Overview
Knowing God Personally – Reconciled into God’s Family (packs of 10) reflects themes of all people being made in God’s image and being reconciled into God’s family, to be more reflective of God’s heart for oneness. It affirms the inherent dignity and value of all people and highlights that the Good News is not only being reconciled to God, but also being included in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural family of God.
Part of Cru’s statement on Oneness in Diversity says, “We believe every human being is made in the image of God and we affirm the God-given worth, dignity and equality of men and women from every tribe, language, people and nation. Because ethnicity is part of the good of creation, we seek to honor and celebrate the ethnic identity of those with whom we serve as well as those we seek to reach…Because the cross reconciles us both to God and to one another as cherished brothers and sisters, we are committed to love well, listen well, repent well, and forgive well.”
This booklet reflects these Biblical values. We hope this tool will be another resource to help communicate the love of God and the good news about what He has done for us.
Here are a few examples from this tool. The section on God’s Good Creation states:
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31
God created everything and made it good. In a unique way, God displays His image in men and women from every ethnicity and culture. He created us to be a reflection of Himself in the world. This gives each person tremendous and inherent dignity and value. God created us to live out this identity in the context of a family that is much larger than our biological family. The section on what Jesus has done for us states: Jesus’s death and resurrection gives us the opportunity to have a relationship with God. But that is not all Jesus came to do. His death and resurrection also allow us to be reconciled with others and have restored relationships as we are adopted into the multi-ethnic, multi-cultural family of God. (Ephesians 2:14-18)
