Overview

Discipleship as the Pursuit of Infinite Treasure
By Mark Liederbach, Ph.D

Dr. Liederbach, formerly serving with Cru and now a seminary professor, is uniquely able to take Cru’s ministry of evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication and situate it soundly in the Bible.

What we find, from Genesis to Revelation, is an unfolding plan of discipleship as the pursuit of infinite treasure-that is, being a disciple and making disciples is fundamentally “a chase of the infinite One forever.” This is the calling we have as Christians, and the pursuit we call others to join.

This is win, build, send, as biblical narrative, and it’s a beautiful, compelling story.

Ministry Use:
Chasing Infinity was uniquely commissioned to accelerate Cru discipleship and multiplication in both Campus and City ministries, as well as in churches. It is a foundational resource for any and all disciples and disciplers.

“Instead of slogging through a bog of boring strategies and techniques, Mark Liederbach zooms out and gives us a breathtaking view of discipleship from 30,000 feet. He reminds us that being a disciple and making disciples is fundamentally ‘a chase of the infinite One forever.’ Well done, Mark! Beautifully written.”
—TIM DOWNS, Cru Alumni, Founder of the Communication Center, Co-founder of The Communication Guys

“Dr. Liederbach addresses Cru’s clarion call to ‘help fulfill the Great Commission’ by taking a refreshing look at our ‘win, build, send’ DNA from the perspective of the grand narrative of Scripture. Chasing Infinity is a timely read and will help to shape ministry and mission well into the twenty-first century.”
—CAS MONACO, Cru Executive Director, PhD Candidate NA Missiology, SEBTS
