Overview

Mission: Readiness
Integrating Your Military Life and Faith

The purpose of the book is to firmly establish military men and women in their identity and purpose as those ordained by God to protect people against evil and all its oppression. Many men and women struggle with being a Christian and being in the military. They face the moral challenges of taking and losing lives and the practical struggles of maintaining a daily life with God.

Mission: Readiness first clarifies the purpose of God for the military as recorded in Genesis 9 and Romans 13. The book shows how the purpose for the military parallels the purpose of God for all mankind. The book then gives an example of a military man Jesus encountered who deeply embodied the character traits of the Sermon on the Mount.

After the example of the soldier, the book grounds the reader in the seven essential character qualities of a disciple of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. It then shows how they are already being trained by the military in these traits which help them deeply understand how they can fully follow Jesus in the military community.

Finally, the book shows how they can develop their ministry skills to have an impact on the military community around them. Specific strategies and tools are cited so that anyone who reads this book can have the tools to begin and lead a movement for Christ, our CO.
