Intentional:
A mission-focused adventure through Jesus’ meals, miracles, and parables
When we consider the character traits of Jesus, intentionality may not be among the first to come to mind. But His life shone with it; in particular in how he engaged with people.
This small group study explores Luke’s account of a number of Jesus’ meals, miracles, and parables, and mobilizes participants to live out his’ purposeful intentionality. He used meals to connect with people and pursue their hearts; his miracles met acute needs and showed his care for their whole person; and his parables and speech invited them to find life in Him and His kingdom. You can do the same. Adventures of love, prayer, service, and gospel proclamation await!

Overview
Examples of Jesus’ intentional nature shine brightly through the Gospel of Luke. Whether in a home over a meal with the wealthy or the outcast, or on the road with weary travelers or the sick and downtrodden, Jesus was present, proactive, and purposeful. He sends his disciples—from the first century to today—out into the world, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to bear this family resemblance.
Intentional consists of 6 “adventures,” each focusing on one of Jesus’ meals, miracles, and parables, that invite you to put this family resemblance into action. Learning from Jesus’ model, you’ll use meals to get beneath the surface and curiously explore the life stories of various people in your network of relationships. You’ll show genuine care by serving, praying for, and meeting people’s real needs. And you’ll step through open doors to ask great questions and spark inviting, gospel-focused conversations.
The 6 adventures can be done in any order, and groups don’t need to feel pressured to complete them all. Intentional’s aim isn’t for these studies to be a task to complete, but an opportunity to strengthen Christ-like intentionality and build a habit of natural conversational evangelism in any Christ-follower. Perfect for church groups, campus ministry, and even youth groups!
